Summer-time
Summer-time is here in more than one way. Our little Summer lives in the big city! What is she doing in the metroplex you ask? She is working her buns off for HBO. She sends her love and said, "Here, when the pain gets to much...look at this photo and have a giggle and a hug from afar!" Just sharin' the love!!! Summer we love you and are sooo very proud of you. You're beautiful!

Gatherin' at Granny's
One of my most precious memories of Granny's house is the front porch swing. I have one on my porch today because it reminds me of good times. I hope my cousins have fond memories of Great Granny's house, too. We played football in the front yard. We were constantly shushed out of the storage building in the back yard where Granny kept her aloe vera plant. And Aunt Mollie taught me how to play solitaire at the kitchen table in order to keep me preoccupied till I was old enough to play Crummy Rummy. Lastly, I'll never forget the caramel squares from her cupboard. What do you remember?

What Is A Granny?
This is a birthday poem that I wrote for Great Granny sometime during my youth. I have forgotten the details about the death of her daughter, but I have a post about the death of her grandson Teddy. http://www.icjesusnu.blogspot.com
Anyway, I was cleaning out a box and ran across this poem...I thought I had lost it. I miss her. Love, Tammie
"What Is A Granny?"
Granny is a Mother.
A woman who gave birth to five daughters.
Lost one, but raised four others with joy and love.
Granny is a Grandmother.
A woman who was their for the birth of ten grandchildren.
Lost one, but gave needed advice to nine others with wisdom and love.
Granny is a Great Grandmother.
A woman who waited for the word on the birth of twenty great grandchildren.
Who made each one a blanket and is watching over their growth with affection and love.
What is a Granny? Granny is a Mother, a Grandmother and a Great Grandmother.
She's a woman who showed us how to stay together, to help one another and how to love.
Happy Birthday Granny!

The Clifton's Online!
The Clifton's Online! Jimmie Ann & Tammie agree that The Clifton's need to stay in touch a little better. We miss the good 'ole days when everyone crammed into Eula Clifton's home for family gatherings, back when cousins knew one another by name. This blog is an attempt to update the family on weddings, births, etc... Coming soon are photos from the 2nd annual reunion.
