On Sunday, my pastor preached on waiting for your seed to grow into a harvest. And he reminded us to not grow weary and faint while you are waiting.
Our prayers for Aunt Jimmie Ann were like seeds being planted. I now see that it took time for those prayer seeds to grow. The fact that her tumor to be GONE is a miracle! And I almost let the enemy steal my joy because I didn't see it as such. When the tumor didn't dissolve immediately upon our prayer request, it shook me up a bit. I knew we prayed HIS will because we prayed the Word over her and the Word says ask believing and you get it. Well, I am now giving thanks to God because we got what we asked for...the tumor is GONE!

My LOOT!
We had a lot of fun in this year's silent auction. I don't know what part of 'silent' was understood. It was really hard to choose what you were willing to fight for...Brian's homemade jelly, Sherry's red velvet cake, fishing rod, or some family keepsakes. Here's a look at my loot from the silent auction:
One of the most coveted items up for bid was a basketful of Chris' coffee. A wonderful assortment was blended in a huge basket. There was a lot of silent bickerin' going on. On occasion the bid sheet would disappear, only to be found under the basket or tucked down in the basket. I was a lightweight bidder on this item and gave up quickly. And I'm not sure how my Mom ended up with the coffee, but she did. That my friends is the reason that it is included in my loot. She gave me half!
My second treasure was an antique toaster. Resa sent this item for auction. I don't think it has family ties, but it does now! I think it fits right in with the old-timey motif of my kitchen, don't you? Did I mention that I didn't even enter the fight for Granny Vera's embroidered pillow cases? These might have been one of her greatest yet with a purple ribbon effect. I'm not even sure who looted them? Monica tried really hard because she's settin' up an apartment for her first venture away from home, but don't know if she bagged 'em.
The piece-de-la-resistance was Great Granny Clifton's butter mold (bottom right). Sue remembers making a many pad of butter with it. Mollie brought it to the auction. There was a lot of bidding drama surrounding this item. I ended up with it. Doesn't it fit in with my collection quite nicely?
I already possessed some of its' matching treasures, as you can see. Granny Vera has been allowing me to showcase Granny Clifton's butter churn (middle). And 'someone' else snuck me Granny Clifton's pie rolling pin (far left). And, I think, that's an old bottle from Trainham's Grocery.
Yipee!

Be there~or~be square!
Our smaller family reunion is tomorrow @ lunch time. Estimated arrival time is eleven-a.m.-ish! I remember family gatherings when we wouldn't miss a one because we thought it might be Great Granny's last attendance. Well, let's not be so morbid or modest! Get here! Besides God, family is THE MOST important thing on this earth.
Just heard an outstanding encouragement on Aunt Jimmie Ann's recovery...she had an MRI on Tuesday and the mass is completely gone!!! The core may still be there but wasn't evident. The doctor only saw 'where' he made the cut.
See! We have a lot to party about!
