Thank You...

While on vacation in Hawaii, I was able to see the Pearl Harbor Memorial, Mighty Mo and USS Bowfin. It leaves ya speechless. During this time of reflection, it finally dawned on me that both my grandpa's fought in this war. I took a picture of a map while on the U.S.S Missouri (also called the Mighty Mo where the peace treaty was signed) and Granny Vera pointed out the island of Guam where Grandpa R.T. fought. And right next to Guam is Iwo Jima where my Grandpa Levoy fought. Dad said that Grandpa Levoy always said that if he hadn't been put in a radio position that he didn't think he would have come home alive.
In my ignorance, I have taken my freedom for granted and never even thanked my Grandpas for their service.

Party Hardy!

There was a party at Vera's today during lunch!!! We hear a lot when we get the four sisters in the same room. Like...Jared is graduating from South Plains and Chance was honored for his grades at Cisco. Everyone knew the sexes and names of the upcoming Riggin's great-grandchildren but no one could remember them at the moment. Therefore, if anyone wants to comment the news then I would greatly appreciate it. Mom, Melinda age 55, had a great birthday lunch and yummy cake. No 'biggest loser' in this bunch today.

Kick Back Mom!

Happy Birthday Melinda! Hope you can kick back on your special day! I'm glad you were born!

Do Dogs Really Go To Heaven?

Why, of course they do!!! The Garden of Eden was heaven on earth and that was Adam and Eve's main job, naming and taking care of the animals. And remember the verse about heaven that says the lion will lay down with the lamb. Peace, total peace!
God has one more dog in heaven today. May 6, 2007 in the middle of the afternoon, Granny's dog Niki went to be with her Creator.
Pray for Granny Vera! There will be a lonely spot on her lap and in her heart.
